M2M (Ministry to Ministries) shares a special greeting from Harvesters,
Now that I am back in the states and trying to fit back into life here, one thing has been on my heart: how to continue to stay committed and steadfast in the Lord!
We see America, this great nation we live in, compromising our godly heritage and values. We see Matthew 24 being fulfilled before our eyes. In this passage, the disciples ask Jesus what the signs of the end of the age will be. Jesus responds, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. 11And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” – Matthew 24:4-5, 9-14
We need to look to the Word of God and continue to be faithful, committed with a steadfast spirit for the Lord as never before!
In Daniel 3:5-6 King Nebuchadnezzar set up a huge image and made it a law to worship this image, and for those who would not, they would be thrown into the fiery furnace. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refused to bow to any other god but the True and Great I AM. Their testimony and faithfulness in front of King Nebuchadnezzar is powerful. Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.” – Daniel 3:16-18
We know how the rest of the story goes. They were thrown into the furnace and “one like the son of the gods” spared them. But there are also times we know when people have died for their faith.
I’ve thought recently, could I really stay true and committed even unto death? This is the kind of commitment that Christ is calling all us Christians to. My fear living in the U.S. is that I will begin to become complacent in my faith. We have to make a deliberate effort to fight that temptation.
This is something we have tried to teach the orphans. Living and loving Jesus is the most important thing in life! I have to say I was blessed when I received the below message from James Bond, one of our older orphans, who is finishing up secondary school this year. His words are a fitting conclusion to this article.
Hi Mama, I hope you are doing well. I have one simple question for you. Is there anything I can do to make Harvesters more successful? Harvesters has done so much for me and I feel it is now my responsibility to help this dream of the founders keep burning. What can I do as my contribution to the lives of other less advantaged children in South Sudan and towards the growth of Harvesters? Tell me, I am ready to do it for God. I have dedicated my life to be used as a vessel of honor for the glory of God in whatever way possible. Are there things I can do to generate funds for Harvesters, crafts, writing articles, anything Mama I just want to be of help in the future in anyway. I love Harvesters and may God help it. I love you Mama.
From the heart of Mama Lilly
