M2M (Ministry to Ministries) shares a blessing and ministry update from our friends at Time to Revive.
67 teams. 258 people. English. Spanish. 5 Bibles each team. 7 wristbands per team. Multiple denominations. ONE CHURCH. ONE MESSAGE.
As these laborers left, I pictured what it would look like when thousands and thousands of people went out to share Jesus with others. I was just downright giddy. This is what Christ asked us to do. To go out and make Him known.
So when I went out to share the Gospel, I kept hearing from the Lord to go sit down beside someone.
It wasn’t anything flashy. It was simple. Just go and sit down with someone.
As Rich and I were driving around, we went behind a strip mall. And there was a 24-year old woman sitting on the curb. She was on a work break. I knew this was who we were supposed to talk to.
Katie was her name. She was open to us praying with her. She was open to us talking with her. She had a background and experience of religion and church and it was quite clear there was some knowledge. But more importantly, she was open to reading through the Gospel verses. It was quite refreshing to see a young woman ready for something more. She was ready to receive His love and accept Him personally as her Savior. Katie recognized living here on earth was only temporary.
Strangely enough, when we were all done sharing about Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection – she mentioned that her relative works at Hosanna! Her name is Pat and she is on staff with the church in Lakeville. Now, I don’t know Pat personally, but I have heard thru many individuals she is a prayer warrior, and she deeply cares for others.
And I just thought to myself, “Wow. This is what it looks like when the body of Christ works together. We all have a role when investing into others to further the kingdom of God.” It was apparent many have poured into Katie. Then I thought of the words of the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:7-9, which says, “So what is Apollos? And what is Paul? They are servants through whom you believed, and each has the role the Lord has given. I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. Now the one who plants and the one who waters are equal, and each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s co-workers. You are God’s field, God’s building.”
Let us continue to work together in our ministry, all across the Twin Cities, praying for and pursuing others (like Katie) with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Because as we do, we can know and trust that even though we are His co-workers, it is the Lord who provides the growth. All for His glory.
