After 105 days and a 13,567 mile journey over land and sea, the 40’ ocean container from Weatherford, Texas has arrived at the Terekeka Orphanage in S. Sudan: Praise the Lord!!
And this could NOT have happened without your prayers and donations—everyone has been such a blessing and a BIG part in this endeavor.
Can you imagine the excitement at the orphanage http://hrtn.org/media/#VIDEOS when it arrived today, Friday?
Here is a bit of history of how the Terekeka container project was conceived: Two different mission teams, one in 2010 and the other in 2011, visited the Harvesters Reaching The Nations orphanages [ www.hrtn.org ] in Yei and Terekeka and returned to the USA realizing the immediate need for critical supplies and equipment for the new Terekeka orphanage. It was expanding from approximately 40 orphans to over 80 plus building a school for up to 350 children which included both orphans and bush kids.
So in November 2011 the Terekeka Container Committee (www.shiptosouthsudan.org) was formed to raise funds and gather supplies to ship a 40’ ocean container to S. Sudan. Exactly one year later nearly $81,000 in cash donations and over $108,000 worth of donated supplies and equipment were loaded into the container and sent on its way on November 30, 2012—isn’t GOD GOOD!! This 3 minute video http://vimeo.com/57808890 (also above) captures the five-hour loading process.
As time goes on, more pictures and information will be sent to you as they become available.
Again, thank you for your prayers and support in putting this project together.
